Superfund/Asbestos?</I></div> <div>                                  </div> <div> Libby has had some press, to say the least, from the national press.  In fact, relatives and friends from across the country have called us wanting to know if we are all sick and dying of cancer and if my husband no longer has his job?!?  The answer is "NO" to both questions.  </div> <bR> <div> First, though the news has been re-circulated and appears as "new" news, it is really old news.  It is just that the legal proceedings, etc. have been drawn out over the years.</div> <bR> <div> Second, my husband works at a silver and copper mine (south of Troy) -- not at a vermiculite mine (that was north of Libby and closed in 1990).  And, YES, many people did get sick, especially those who worked in the mine or who were in some way in close contact with it.  However, EPA has been in the area for over 7 years and have been doing clean up.</div> <bR> <div> To be prudent, each property that you plan to sell or buy, should be checked to determine if the property has been or is to be cleaned up.</div> <bR> <div> Educate yourself!  For more info on asbestos:  <A
